The popular messaging app will reportedly end support for iPhone users on iOS 10 and iOS 11, meaning those with devices running older software will no longer be able to message their friends over WhatsApp.
The change is said to come on October 24th, 2022, giving you about five months to update your system software. Those on the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6S with iOS 12 installed will still enjoy support from WhatsApp.

Android users are unaffected as long as they continue to use Android 4.1 or newer. If you’re still on iOS 10 or 11 and want to keep using WhatsApp past October, all you need to do is update your device to the latest version of iOS.
Upgrading to the latest version of iOS is free and it will also let you use the latest features Apple has to offer including new notifications and some redesigned app interfaces.
