Uduak Akpan Attempts Escape After Being Sentenced To De@th For R@pe And Murd£r


Uduak Akpan has been sentenced to de@th by the State High Court in Uyo after being convicted of r@ping and murd£ring a female job-seeker, Iniubong Umoren, last year.

The convict tried to escape upon hearing his sentence but was subdued by the security officials.

Mr. Akpan was sentenced to de@th by hanging at the State High Court in Uyo presided by Judge Bassey Nkanang on Thursday 4th of July.

According to the court ruling, Uduak Akpan has been proven without doubt to be guilty of the r@pe and murd£r charges against him.

The victim Ms. Umoren, was reported missing on the 29th of April, 2021, after she was lured out for a fake job interview by Mr. Akpan.

On April 30, 2011, Ms. Umoren’s corpse was exhumed in a shallow grave by police operatives, a day after she was r@ped and k!lled at Akpan’s family compound.

At the first court hearing on the 26th of July 2021, Mr. Akpan pleaded guilty to murd£r, but not guilty to r@pe.

Later evidence gathered in the case proved the accused guilty of both the murd£r and r@pe of Ms. Umoren.

A viral video shows the moment where Uduak Akpan fought to escape from court upon hearing his sentence but was subdued by the security officials.

During the period while she was still just missing, many had taken to Twitter to use the hashtag #FindHinyUmoren to help track her location.

The de@th of Iniubong Umoren sparked several reactions across the country as many raised awareness over the issue of r@pe in the country.
