Controversial Nollywood Actress, Tonto Dikeh, has been nominated as the running mate of the ADC Candidate, Tonte Ibraye, for the Rivers State governorship election.
Tonte Ibraye won the African Democratic Congress (ADC) party’s ticket in June after polling a total of 187 votes out of 188 votes.
Ibraye is an advocate for maternal, newborn, and child health. The gubernatorial candidate has announced that he has chosen Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh as his deputy in the coming elections.
Tonto Dikeh took to her Instagram page today 24th of June to share her appreciation and thanked Ibraye for nominating her for the deputy office.
Her caption read, “I thank Mr. Tonte Ibraye(@tonteibraye), the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State for nominating me as his running mate,”
“We are looking forward to investing massively in social protection, creating a social value system for young people, increased women’s inclusion in our governance system, supporting small businesses and strengthening our traditional institutions to be active players in the drive to bring sustainable development to the good people of Rivers State.”
“I am glad to be a proud member of the #RiversRescueMission2023 Please get your PVC and join the movement. You are the Future and The future is now! #TonteTonto2023.”
While many commend the move and congratulate the actress on her nomination, a few others argue that she is not a suitable candidate for the position.
