Instagram CEO Responds To Kim Kardashian And Kylie Jenner Over App Criticism


The CEO of Instagram has responded to Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner after the half-sisters criticized the new updates on the app making it look like TikTok.

According to the CEO, Adam Mosseri, Instagram would become more of a video platform over time.

Recall that Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner had criticized the new Instagram Reel feature which they believed was an imitation of TikTok.

Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner who both have over 300 million followers on Instagram, took to their pages to lament over the new look of the app. The half-sisters shared a message asking Instagram to go back to the way it was without the Reels feature.

In response to the billionaire models, Adam Mosseri shared a video where he explained that while Instagram would continue to support photos, it would be promoting the new Reels feature.

Mosseri said, “Now, I want to be clear: we’re going to continue to support photos — it’s a part of our heritage, you know,”

“That said, I need to be honest — I do believe that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time. We see this even if we change nothing,” Mosseri added.

“If you look at what people like and consume and view on Instagram, that’s also shifting more and more to video over time, even when we stop changing anything. “So we’re going to have to lean into that shift while continuing to support photos.”
