Singer Harry Styles has canceled his concert in Copenhagen following a mass shooting at a nearby mall.
The singer revealed this merely hours before he was set to go on stage in Copenhagen. Harry Styles was to perform at Copenhagen’s Royal Hall yesterday 3rd of July, which was only a few miles from the crime scene.
According to reports from the police, the shooting occurred at Field’s shopping center. Copenhagen police chief Søren Thomassen confirmed three persons had been reported dead and several others injured.
The suspect in the case is a 22-year-old Danish man who has since been held in police custody.
Harry Styles took to his Twitter page yesterday to express his devastation over the incident. His tweet read,
“I’m heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen. I adore this city. The people are so warm and full of love. I’m devastated for the victims, their families, and everyone hurting. I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please look after each other.”
While many were disappointed about the concert being canceled, they also commended the singer for choosing to prioritize people’s safety and canceling the concert.
