Nigerian Singer Buju (BNXN) has been served with facing the law for assaulting a police officer in Lagos State.
According to the reports by Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State police command, Buju had claimed he spat on a police officer on Wednesday 17th of August.
The singer had disclosed in a now-deleted tweet that he spat into the face of a police officer while he was being harassed.
A video which has since gone viral on Wednesday showed the moment when the ‘Outside’ singer was being stripped and harassed by police officers in Lagos State.
Reacting to his experience, BNXN had tweeted, “Spat in a police officers face and it felt so good. I let you in my car and you dragged me out and tear my shirt and start slapping me?? Nah everybody must stop!”
While the post has since been deleted, Benjamin Hundeyin got wind of it and responded in a tweet
“@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet. The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer.”
