The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has called off its industrial strike action after 8-months of inactivity.
News of the suspended strike hit the media early Friday morning after the National Executive Council meeting which was held on Thursday at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja.
Although an official statement has not been released by the union, reports from insiders suggest that the decision has been made to suspend the strike.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities embarked on an indefinite strike on the 14th of February, 2022. After keeping students at home for eight long months, the union has seen light at the end of the tunnel.
An official pronouncement will be made later Friday on the suspension of the strike.
